Here’s a pretty overdue post from last Summer. Run by the former team at Sergeant Recruiter in the 4eme of Paris, which was one of my husband’s favourite spot for something simple and good. The guys apparently fell out and opened Les Deserteurs- the name is funny and literally means the same in English – the deserters. We were told the insider story that it was an affront and their way of saying “fuck you” to the former restaurant.

Everything served here is homegrown, everything seasonal and they work with local artisanal producers for everything.
Lunch sets for 50€ three courses and you have a choice of meat or fish.
Needless to say, this was an amazing and well seasoned tomato salad to start.
I went with the fish, chef went with the beef or lamb I can’t remember.
Dessert was fresh, light with the best of summer sunshine distilled on a plate.
This was random but made my day. I have been working hard on mindfulness meditation, so you can imagine my joy when I saw someone’s internet was called MINDFULNESS.
