Reading: Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore

The Macau Taipa library still has no system of filing their books Charles Dickens alongside Slyvia Plath and Dickens… it’s neither time, genre or author based (like most libraries around the world it is filed with a system in alphabetical order of the author’s last name).

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore,

I picked up the book by chance and based it upon the reviews of it as a first novel – it combined the digital age of codes UX and strategic google ad placements with all my favourite subjects – history, bookstores, typography, freemasonry.

The plot gelled surprisingly well together and I highly recommend Mr Penumbra’s 24-hour bookstore. Think it’s Robin Sloan’s first novel.
