Eating in Shanghai

shanghai sheng jian bao

The best sheng jian bao is allegedly right opposite Jia Jia Tang Bao, so don’t miss it when you go there for breakfast!

The two best places to get Xiao Long Bao in Shanghai is here:

Jia Jia Tang Bao (佳家汤包) 90 Huanghe Lu ,People’s Square near Fengyang Lu, 黄河路90号, 近凤阳路

and Nanxiang Tang Bao
720 Nanjing Dong Lu,Nanjing Dong Lu, 南京东路720号

Vlad took me to his secret little Japanese restaurant that does amazing food at average prices. Be sure to book a table as this cosy place seats only about 30.

I made the boys eat two orders of this wonderful wasabi pumpkin with me.

Wasabi mayo pumpkin. So good.

Apart from good soba noodles, Bankura also does really good duck meat balls, ,the first time I’ve ever had something like this.

Brunch was good, but uneventful. We went to Origins at Taikang Lu (well worth the walk and visit) and I had eggs benedict. Known for their organic menu, I daresay that Beijing does a better Sunday brunch any day at Mosto or Village Cafe.
