You have to do a double take as the woman figurine is actually fake! And it’s the optical illusion of her looking at herself looking at a photo and me looking back!

Know for this children’s book illustrations, Taiwanese artist/illustrator Jimmy Liao’s (廖福彬) exhibition uses the open plan space at The Village Sanlitun to carry out the narrative of his stories this festive season. The exhibit features a variety of cross-over art work and colourfully blinding outdoor art installations like the “Galaxy bus” and stop by the “Starry Night Bus Station” to an almost magical interior when you head indoors into The Orange.

The installation pieces encourages one to see the world through the perspective of a child. Liao was also commissioned to design a Christmas “tree” for in the plinth of Village South.

It’s terribly whimsical and I really like it.
