hongkong suckling pig

I have eaten alot of roast suckling pigs in my life, with every grandparent’s birthday, weddings and lavish company banquets. I have to say that this ranks as the top. It’s extra sinful as it’s stuffed with delicious glutinous rice! This place also does fantastic traditional Cantonese soups, not an ounce of MSG—the real deal.

Make sure you have at least 6-8 friends with you to finish the pig allowing room to order other dishes off the menu. We unfortunately had little room in our stomachs to order anything else. Mix glutinous rice with grease and you’re pretty much ready for bed.

The skin on the roast pork gives an audible satisfying crunch when you bite into it, the glutinous rice rich with grease and flavour, and double boil Cantonese soups made exactly like how my mother does it – there’s not much else you can ask for, isn’t it?

Book your pig at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise you can forget about having it on the spot!

Thanks to my old friend C who was visiting me from Singapore who had this amazing tip!

Hi Kristine! I’m sure you’re going to have a lovely gourmand time in HK! I can’t remember but it’s definitely in the range of 280-300+ below 500HKD for sure. YOu will need at least 4-5 big eaters with you to order other dishes a la carte apart from the suckling pig. It’s super filling as it’s stuffed with a delicious mix of chestnuts, spices and glutinous rice. Soups are very good too – old school Canto style made with love sans MSG and so tasty!
