Eating Out: Ma Bourgogne Paris Brasserie

paris ma bourgogne escargots

Our local friend recommended we come to this brasserie for lunch, especially for the escargots and beef tartare. Both were brilliantly done. They do the beef tartare the classic way here-with capers, which served as a nice accelerator to the dish. I had moules frites Mussels to follow which was also delish. We had glorious sunny weather the day we arrived so it was really pleasant to sit outside and people watch.

This is not gourmet food, but good brasserie fare for what it is given the too many average places that we tend to just stumble into while doing tourist things.

And if you’re on your way there, there’s a cute gallery just by the brasserie. This time they had a series of neon samurai cats on display. If you’re sightseeing, Victor Hugo’s house is just round the corner from here, on the other side of Place des Vosges.
