Eating out Paris: Le Quinzieme Paris by Cyril Lignac

A few summers ago we ate at the brasserie in St Germain at Le Chardenoux which was great, but I much prefer Le Quinzième. The husband worked with chef Cyril over a decade ago when they all began their promising start at Le Jardin Des Sens helmed by the twin Pourcel brothers. That same kitchen gave birth too so many talented Michelin starred chefs (both chef Cyril and the husband have one Michelin star), even Noma’s René Redzepi went through that kitchen as is the Singapore media darling chef André Chiang.

Anyhow, back to the food. The same vein of rich flavours, but light party in the mouth type of dishes with a play on textures and marriage of ingredients and sauces. It’s deliciousness at all levels and I highly recommend it. Lunch sets from 65€.

A citrusy sauce to balance the richness of the foie gras. Yum.

Followed by a blu lobster gnocchi perfectly cooked.

A palate cleanser sorbet before we dived in for our beef.

A perfect medium rare served with crispy garlic bits – reminiscent of Teppanyaki styled beef served with lots of garlic crisps.

I am often told how he’s a huge celebrity in France, for those outside of France, you’d never tell with someone so humble down to earth.
