In search of the perfect meal john baxter

One of the best food books I’ve read so far. Full of light weight info and funny anecdotes – did you know that the Madeleines in Proust’s novel was actually toast??

So much history, anthropology and lovely asides from Baxter, and I can’t wait to go back to Paris for a literary tour with him.

If you love food, France, history and literature, this book is definitely for you. And even if you were not into all of these things, I still recommend A perfect meal to you.

And well, the book is best enjoyed with tea and some buttery échire sablés by the heater in this damp and cold Macau winter. :)
