An old friend I haven’t seen in half a lifetime was in town to cover Art Basel and wanted to try out these art cocktails at Artesian bar. We made our reservations and were seated by the bar as we watched bar tender painstakingly paint on his egg white canvas. We were warned that it would take time and reservations absolutely necessary.
I am not a cocktail expert and barely drink cocktails, but quite liked my Mondrian – “saffron gin, chartreuse, elderflower, grenadine, and lemon bitters, a stark, herbaceous blend” that went into it. We didn’t do so well for time and had to pass on Dali’s timepiece.
Was it good? Well, it was worth the experience and I would say go for the fun of it, comes up to about 170HKD/ cocktail with service charge. On till April 30.
