The food we eat rarely rots these days since it’s full of chemicals, preservatives and meats injected with all sorts of hormonal stuff. It’s disgusting the way it rots, but at least it’s natural. Dr Yan of BBC one explains food rot in this time lapse, and I love how excited he is explaining the […]

I feel bad that I’ve slightly abandoned the blog as I have been obsessed with 微博, the Chinese version of twitter and then tumblr which is so much more exciting for the short attention span folks like me. Every other second there are cool new things to check out and look at, and this blog […]

Living in the 15th, just up the street from Pierre Hermé, it’s hard to avoid spending all your money there. The store is stark, clean and simple which allows the beautiful cakes and pastries to stand out. The store on Rue Bonaparte doesn’t allow photos, but the one on rue Vaugirard allows 2 photos. Who […]

In my over 4 years away, I have never been homesick, but it’s starting to get to me these days and I am watching more Singapore satire! I think Singapore has brilliant talents in the theatre scene and this really made me miss going to the theatre back home, having a laugh at our own […]

I am not a fan of macaroons but I always love how beautiful they look and how much prettier they look in pretty packaging. Theurel & Thomas is Mexico’s first macaroon patisserie with a very neat branding campaign done by Anagram. Everything is très chic, clean and simple, letting the macaroons as beautiful as costume […]

I got three out of five right. I think I’ll do better if there was an Asian breakfast round. Photographer Oliver Schwarzwald looks at “typical breakfasts around the world”, surely not quite, where is the century egg congee and dough sticks, fried bee hoon or fried carrot cake with black sweet sauce (char dao kueh) […]

Because most of my closest and dearest are sharing photos of their child(ren) and since I have neither children nor wedding photos to show off, here is smudge and me to add to the pool of sharing a personal element with friends. Isn’t it great that my cat comes in a mini tuxe? :)

I didn’t find my photo of the day Friday, since I spent all of it working. Then, I went home to feed the cat and her little feeding bowl made me chuckle. I bought this ages ago in carrefour because of the little fish shape, but I never thought about how random the Ultraman motif […]

I didn’t think the Queenstown prison would look that awesome in another light. I think this was a brilliant idea, giving it that sort of urban edge it needed. Now, I feel a little more hip being Singaporean. How terribly visionary of the CK creative director and Singaporean Geoff Ang. All photos via Blankanvas
