This is old news, but not many people have talked about it, so I thought I’d share.
This Barbie concept store in Shanghai is a little girl’s haven. The amazing space embodies both the classic beauty by Martell and has Barbie subtly embracing a form of subversive feminism. Yes, girl power.

Here you’ll find Barbie through the ages, dressed in miniature designer gowns by the likes of Armani and Vera Wang. Life size portraits of the dolls are also featured in all professions from lawyers and doctors to policewomen and scientists. Whatever your childhood fantasy profession, you name it, they’ve created a character doll for it.
So, what do you want to be when you grow up?

You got to love the concept. It’s a brilliant way to keep little girls’ dreams alive.
The Barbie café reminded me very much of Colette Paris—beautiful pink cupcakes and macaroons served on tastefully designed cutlery.

Finally, doesn’t a barbie-tini after a trip to the spa sound enticing?
