Hello!

Hi, I am Juliana Loh, also endearingly known to friends as J-Loh. I am a well-fed and watered not-so-sterile Singaporean married to a chef (Head chef of a three Michelin- starred restaurant, no less).

Chicken Scrawlings is my blog about food, travel and life: celebrating victories in the trials and tribulations of life, marriage and work. In 2017, I survived cancer.  I'm making the best of every day and living it on behalf of many dear friends gone too soon.

I am a seasoned, well-travelled freelance journalist covering stories about travel, food, culture, luxury hospitality and design.

I contribute regularly to Travel + Leisure, Hong Kong Tatler, SCMP, Singapore's National broadsheet The Straits Times, D+A and Prestige magazine.

I am also on regional panels for F&B awards, lists and guides, as well as trend networks: WGSN and Trendwatching.

 I live and work in Singapore Treviso, Beijing, Hong Kong  Macao. 

Sometimes, you'll also see Smudge, my Beijing rescue tuxedo cat, who decided to get off the streets for the nomadic cat-pat life. In 2018, we welcomed Gaja, a Maine Coon to the family. In September 2020, I became a Mama bear to Baby G.
