Indian Chillies as weapons against terrorism?
My father told me that when he was a child, my late grandmother used to punish him and his siblings by rubbing chillies on their eyes and mouths for telling lies or misbehaving. That must have been pretty intense. I’m not sure if it’s a proven fact, but my late grandmother always said that chillies that grew pointing to the sky (in Cantonese 指天椒)were the hottest, the equivalent of the Malay chilli padi.
Either way I think this is an odd, but rather effective strategy to deal with terrorists, the way we punish children on this side of the world (or maybe only in my family).
