We’ve stayed at Auberge Flora in Paris 3 summers in a row, a cosy 21 room 3* hotel run by chef Flora Mikula. She’s at the helm of the kitchen downstairs and the rooms are divided into themes of gardening, Bohemian and nature.
We go with the Garden theme every year – there’s always cherry tomatoes in full bloom outside our window, a huge watering can keychain and carefully curated and thoughtfully handpicked little items that fill the room makes one smile.
The rooms while small are clean and cosy, quirky and pleasant. The location is great with plenty of restaurants and bars in the area and just a short walk from Bastille Métro. The food downstairs is down to earth brasserie food with a pretty decent wine list.
Plenty of garden elements with watering cans in the bathroom, a wallpaper of vegetable peels, last year we were in a room with aubergine, this year courgettes… all garden themed rooms have the same sink – utility wise, not entirely practical for toiletries (but there’s a metal stand beside the sink for all that.)
Our welcome amenity – bubbles to start the stay.
The wooden bathtub are for the Nature themed rooms, with an open bath concept and slightly smaller than our garden room. Reminds me of my old wooden bathtub I had in Beijing!
We spent something between 120-180€ the three summers we stayed.
