I brought chef here as a part of his birthday surprise and the food didn’t disappoint – simple, perfectly executed and damn tasty food. Portions average, presentation straight up.
Apart from us sitting at the open kitchen and he was getting OCD on hygiene. (chef occupational hazard), everything was perfect and we’d definitely be back.
Everything was deliciously seasoned, fresh, and well balanced – and I loved it way more than 22 ships in Hong Kong, Commune Social is all part of the same group as Pollen in Singapore in Gardens by the bay that I haven’t been to myself but heard it’s stupidly expensive but a great date night place if you’re up for a splurge for average food.
There’s British chef Melvin Scott plating in the background.

Loved everything about the place, the space, alfresco dining with a British industrial brick and mortar feel.
We ordered a brunch menu that included scallops, I chose a lamb with mash for main and included a dessert i think it was 178RMB?
The beef sliders and pork belly a la carte was amazing, the omelette alright and the desserts spot on – creme catalan and chocolate mousse. I would have second and third helpings of that chocolate mousse.
We were absolutely starving and our total bill came up to 760RMB without alcohol, just a bottle of sparkling water.

Like 22 ships in Hong Kong, it’s a no reservation policy, so best to avoid the peak hours to get a table.
