We ate so well and had great conversations with strangers at Lissabonbon café – a vintage café which I had read on a blog that it was a shop and dragged my friends to go find it. It all ended well – turns out it’s run by Lucia a lovely Portuguese lady and we had Galão coffee – the closest Portuguese equivalent of a latte, the galão is served 1/4 coffee 3/4 foam milk over amazing vegan gluten free, egg free cheese cake. We even met Victoria who baked the cake herself. This Californian lady had amazing stories of moving to Berlin for love over two decades ago and watched the wall go up and then come down. While chatting with Victoria, we invited a Berlin burlesque performer to join us as we had coffee and cake. That kind of sums up the Berlin vibe for me – fun, cosmopolitan, random, open with endless possibilities.

The next time you pop in this cute vintage café say hello to Lucia and Victoria. After, you’re done with coffee and cakes or lunch, head over to I Like Paper and get some souvenir shopping in.
