This is one of our favourite Hong Kong playgrounds – it’s got a fantastic curated indoor playground programme with themed areas and an expansive outdoor area for riding bikes, climbing walls, water feature, sandpit and a mud kitchen.
There are many outdoor playgrounds and parks across Hong Kong, but few combine both indoor and outdoor activities in one spot. In the sweltering summer heat of Hong Kong, an indoor air conditioned space is a welcome respite.
A hidden Gem of HonG Kong Playgrounds
Although it’s such a mouthful and not an easy name to remember, the Pamela Peck Space Discovery Centre was probably a best kept secret until I wrote about it for Little Steps Asia. It’s housed in a building that’s also a school for early childhood educators and on site, there are always trained teachers looking out for the kids, encouraging free play and engagement – in exchange they get to observe how young children play and develop which in turn informs their future programmes for both teachers in training as well as the children who come play.
Tickets are 100HKD for a 3 hour timeslot, either in the morning (9-12noon) or afternoon (1-4pm) and you have to book in advance on eventbrite. If we lived closer on South side, we’d take the annual membership pass to go play there often.
