I stopped by this bistro Bouchon briefly in April for Timeout’s winewalk. It’s a charming little place that almost feels like dining in a bistro in France. Great ambience, a short but decent wine list and a small menu that does simple good food. Bread comes warm, crisp and fresh, my only gripe is I wish they had salted butter!
Bouchons are popular little eateries in Lyon.
I have a soft spot for escargots and although have eaten so many bad escargots, I still take risks to order them every time. I guess I never learn. These were okay, if a little bland.
Pretty good foie gras as we didn’t know what to expect.
Their signature mussels, which were good, but also a little bland.

I’m not into steaks, but it looked pretty good and was given an okay thumbs up. The fries however that came with our mussels and steak was too greasy and tasted like re-used oil many times over. uh.
