Singapore Food Fling

One of the things I miss most about Singapore is Bak Chor Mee and I don’t think I can find breakfasts like these anywhere else in the world. I ate 4 bowls at simpang bedok right by my place and chanced upon another pretty good bowl of noodles at North Bridge Road, opposite Bugis junction.

braised pork belly buns

My mother’s braised pork belly recipe handed down from my grandmother, everything is done intuitively and it’s alot of feelings and tasting involved rather than a rigid fixed recipe. And a fish head mixed vegetable claypot dish that evolved from earlier days when my grandmother used to throw all leftovers together to get this tasty dish which goes perfectly with steaming white rice. It’s become a homecooked comfort dish for me and my mother is alot more generous with luxurious ingredients like braised duck, roast pork and sea cucumbers all slow cooked in the claypot with fishhead and cabbage.

I was a little ambitious thinking about catching up with emails and blogging while home. Instead, I spent alot of quality time with my family, worked and ate. Repeat.
