Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises is where General Charles de Gaulle is buried and on our roadtrip we stopped by to visit friends two summers ago.
Chef Jean-Baptise’s one Michelin starred restaurant was closed that day, so we dined at his dad’s brasserie La Table du General instead (incidentally also on the top 10 restaurants list in the area on Tripadvisor), but stayed at Hostellerie La Montagne, the Inn by his restaurant.
The beauty about the Michelin guide in France is that it takes you to remote countrysides around the country to discover the various regions and their cuisine and wines, along with a slice of history.
Fresh air, green pastures and plenty of vegetation including pear trees lining the walls.
I love holidays like these and am always eternally grateful to my husband who takes me everywhere to share these great moments.
