Macao: Zaha Hadid’s Architectural Marvel Morpheus Hotel

I stayed at Morpheus  on a press trip late last year shortly after the hotel had opened. It’s an architetural marvel and one of Dame Zaha Hadid’s last project. I was living in Macao then when I went for the press conference where she unveiled the design – the world’s first freeform exoskeletal high-rise building and the interiors are stunning.

Breakfast and room service is provided by Pierre Hermé that also serves a savory menu of delish sandwiches, congee and dimsum.

They’ve also populated the hotel with a vast range of very diverse art – some big name artists like KAWS, Erwin Wurm and French artist’s Charles Pétillion – whose ethereal clouds looked really out of place and without the same magic as the installation he did at Covent Garden.

Really enjoyed the press lunch at Alain Ducasse’s Voyage restaurant, inspired by his international travels and global restaurant presence. IMG_9089   IMG_9016 IMG_9096 IMG_9098 IMG_9101
