Eating out: Jaan by Kirk Westaway Singapore

A lovely way to start at Jaan Singapore with this beetroot meringue, smoked eel, Devonshire cheddar cheese and buckwheat pancake, fish and chips, artichoke roll.

We finally got to check out one of the best of British cooking in Singapore at Jaan restaurant.

The menu at Jaan by Kirk Westaway, a one Michelin-starred restaurant and #32 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, was interesting and extensive. In addition, the tables by the window offer breathtaking views of the Singapore skyline.

Chef Kirk’s mission is to “reinvent British cuisine” and my favourite courses were discovering British flavours and produce, from English cheeses to the Pimms in the park (London summer time) and little strawberry pancake with clotted cream at the dessert course.
