Macao has so many options for great food with more affordable options than Hong Kong. We love Indian food, and two restaurants I miss very much is one Michelin starred Golden Peacock in Venetian and Goa Nights in Taipa Village.
They have a really interesting cocktail menu inspired by voyage and adventures of Portuguese sailors plying the trade routes. The menu gets updated and you get bespoke cocktails too – so be sure to ask what’s special.
I love how everything is a family effort at Goa Nights, Gwen the proprietor’s wife painted beautiful wall mural, the menu is done by his sister and his mother visits Macao often.
I highly recommend spending your day exploring Taipa Village and the old town, then wrapping up the evening with cocktails and dinner at Goa Nights before heading back to the ferry terminal, or better yet check into one of the hotels on the Cotai Strip for a weekend getaway.
There’s plenty to see and do – the old firecracker factory, beautiful temples, the Taipa house museum, churches and old colonial Taipa houses in pastel green and pink and an art gallery.
