Eating Paris: ** Michelin La Scene by chef Stephanie Le Quellec

It feels like a lifetime ago since we last travelled. I am wistful watching travel documentaries on TV. Our last meal in Paris exactly a year ago was the same week chef Stephanie Le Quellec’s restaurant La Scene got awarded its second star. A dame amongst male culinary stars, chef Stephanie won “Top Chef France” in 2011.

PARIS GASTRONOMY: La scene menu

Chef Stephanie focuses on seasonal produce, sourced from local producers, which ensures that the flavours are at their peak when it hits the menu. The menu changes throughout the year to showcase the best of every season.

We stayed on for celebrations with all the other chefs (all men!) and it was so admirable to see a woman hold her own in a room full of boisterous men, all who helm their own Michelin starred kitchens.

The food? Delicate yet rich, flavourful, simple yet complex.

Looking forward to going back to dine when we can travel again. It’s located in the 8eme, so have an apertif across the road at Le Bristol (great ambience, potty arrogant Parisian service) before heading over for dinner.
