The Duck Tours is definitely an activity I’d recommend to do with kids, you get unobstructed views of the beautiful Singapore skyline, and it covers all the historical landmarks in the CBD area including Parliament House, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by The Bay, The Esplanade. We were here just before Singapore’s National Day (August 9) and there were road closures for the National Day Parade, along with the set up for September’s F1 Formula Night Race in the heart of the civic district.
The highlight for my kiddo is of course a boat with wheels! Am amphibious vehicle that was modelled after World War II DUKW – used during the wars to navigate land and water.
Our highlight of the 50 minute excursion was heading down the ramp into the Singapore river. We loved the splash! Our guide was lukewarm at best so we paid little attention, you get the usual history and fun facts about Singapore and quizzes.
Singapore is truly beautiful and how much it’s changed since I left 20 years ago. It’s quite a different modern city from the one I grew up in.
Ticket prices are a little steep but I’d say it’s worth to try it once, would we do it again? Probably not. I also paid for an overpriced souvenir, but this little duck was a great investment as kiddo really loves it. You’ll need to book way ahead as it always sold out. The first trip starts at 10am.
Tickets were about 35SGD for kids and 40SGD for adults, the cute little duck cost $24, but I’ll consider it a good investment as he’s still playing with it weeks after and takes it for walks.
