Food Film: Jiro Dreams of Sushi

Jiro dreams of sushi is a brilliant very cinematic documentary on the man behind 3 Michelin-starred restaurant Sukiyabashi Jiro, the coveted 10-seat Tokyo restaurant is possibly the most expensive place to get the world’s best sushi.

Chef has been twice to Jiro, they take their sushi very seriously and no photography allowed. You’re given specific instructions to eat quickly as soon as it is served and the seats are apparently not comfortable – I guess it’s meant to get you in and out of your meal quickly.

The sushi master Jiro shows the art of sushi, but above all, values, hardwork, traditions and the passion that drives one tirelessly.

Love the way it was shot, the cinematography is brilliant, and the subtitles sleek and unobstrusive.
