Tenmasa is known as one of the best tempura spots in town. House in Altira hotel, prices are pretty steep, but it’s really a case of you get what you paid for – quality produce, a great intimate setting with good acoustics (private rooms) and we always go with the omakase menu – leaving things up to the chef.
Produce from Japan is flown in at least 5 times a week here. The original restaurant Tenmasa Tokyo is a 2 michelin starred tempura shop that opened in 1937 before having an outpost in Macau in 2007.
Unfortunately, I realised we got so excited about the tempura, I forgot to take any photos of the star of the meal!
Here’s a visual treat – everything from chawamushi with sea urchin (steam egg dish) to the beef udon, spicy tuna sushi and sashimi were absolutely spot on.
Be prepared to spend anything from MOP2000+ for two without drinks.
