This is a very belated post, we came to Roganic Hong Kong to celebrate my birthday in March earlier this year and everything was perfect. The post is timely because they will be reopening in a new space in January 2025 at Lee Garden One, Causeway Bay. I won’t be surprised that they get their second Michelin star next year because the food really merits it.
Roganic by Simon Rogan
Roganic is the Hong Kong outpost of three Michelin starred (in 2022) British Chef Simon Rogan focused on a farm to table philosophy and serving up the best of what the seasons have to offer and a focus on sustainability. The restaurant also has a green Michelin star for its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint as a restaurant.
The degustation menu consists of very tasty little bites before the mains and wildly delicious desserts that aren’t too sweet. Modern British cuisine that is mindful of carbon footprint and using as much local greens as possible with their partnerships with local farmers as well as in Taiwan. We don’t come here often enough due to their odd location in a mall tucked on the other end of CWB, and hoping to return more often in the new location.
It’s been nearly a year since our last meal there and I don’t remember exactly what all the dishes are – except that they were all very tasty and we were very much engrossed in conversation and catching up over lunch date. I’m sure the menu has been updated and changed according to the season’s best produce.
